Description:
- LCOS as of version 8.80 (download latest version)
- LANtools version 8.80 (download latest version)
- LANCOM router or LANCOM access point with activated LANCOM Public Spot Option
The use of the device with active Public Spot as gateway and DNS server in the Public Spot network is mandatory!
The management ports for HTTP (port 80) and HTTPS (port 443) must not be changed and have to be left on the default values! Please refer to this article in our Knowledge Base (see steps 1.8) - 1.9)).
If the integrated SSL certificate is used, a warning is displayed when invoking an HTTPS website due to an unknown certificate! Please refer to this article in our Knowledge Base (see "Security notice for the SSL-HTTPS certificate").
- A hotel is to provide a free Public Spot wireless LAN for its guests.
- The Public Spot WLAN is to be configured to have its own IP address range of 192.168.200.0/24 and to be separated from the in-house LAN so that only Internet access is possible.
- Hotel guests should be able to login to the Public Spot wireless LAN with the user data supplied to them by the hotel.

If you are configuring this scenario on a LANCOM access point , or your LANCOM WLAN router is not the router that connects to the Internet (Internet gateway), then on the upstream router you additionally need to configure a return route to the guest WLAN (in this case: 192.168.200.0/24) .

The fields Time budget and Volume budget are used to set up individual time and/or volume budgets for the users of the LANCOM Public Spot. Information about the configuration is available in the following Knowledgebase article
