Description:
The power LED on the LANCOM router flashes. What exactly is the problem?
Prerequisite:
Explanation:
A power LED may flash for a number of reasons:
- 1) The preset
time or charge limit was reached
- , after which the router no longer allows any outgoing connections.
- 2) The router has not been assigned
a password
- (security feature).
- 3) There was an
hardware error
- . This is the case when the device freezes with a flashing red power LED while booting.
Solution:
For 1):
You can set the number of charge units and the time limit available to the router in LANconfig under Configuration -> Management -> Costs.
Set these entries to 0 if you wish to switch this monitoring off, or select a relevant value.
For 2):
In the interest of security, specify a password for the router under Configuration -> Management -> Admin.
