Description: The Call Routing table is able to modify source and destination telephone numbers. It can also be used to control which destination line should be used for any particular call. This filter function can leverage the calling number, the source line and the calling domain. This article describes how calls are processed by the Call Routing table and what you need to consider. How the Call Routing table works:- The call routes are processed from top to bottom.
- As an option, the source and destination numbers and also the domain can be modified.
- Calls can be directed over specific lines.
- The wildcard # (hash sign) stands for any number of characters.
- Once a call route goes through the destination line RESTART, the source line is removed.
Number | Filter | Mapping | Source number | Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | Destination number | Called number | Destination number |
Examples of how it works:
Example 1: An ISDN user is making the following call: Source number: 555 Destination number: 017612345 Modifying the source number:Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | 555 | +49241555 | before | after |
Modifying the destination number:Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | 017612345 | 017612345 | before | after |
Example 2: A SIP user is making the following call: Source number: 55512 Destination number: 017612345 Modifying the source number: Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | 55512 | +4924155512 | before | after |
Modifying the destination number:Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | 017612345 | +4917612345 | before | after |
Example 3:A SIP user is making the following call: Source number: 55512 Destination number: 017612345 Modifying the source number: Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | 55512 | +4924155512 | before | after |
Modifying the destination number (route 1):Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | 017612345 | 0017612345 | before | after |
Modifying the destination number (route 2):Calling number (in) | Calling number (out) | 0017612345 | 017612345 | before | after |
Example 4:A SIP user is making the following call: Source number: 55512 Destination number: 017612345 Once a call route goes through the destination line RESTART, the source line is subsequently removed (in this case USER.SIP). Consequently, the configuration shown in the screenshot would mean that no outgoing calls would be possible via the destination line SIP-TRUNK! |
