Information:

When you add a new LANCOM device to LANconfig, the only communication protocols enabled by default are the secure HTTPS and SSH.

This default setting ensures that communication between LANconfig and a LANCOM device is always performed with encrypted communication protocols.

Note:

  • The unencrypted protocols HTTP and TFTP are

always disabled by default

  • in this dialog box, even if you have allowed their use in the

global settings for LANconfig

  • in the menu

Tools -> Options -> Communication

  • .

If you wish to use an unencrypted (and therefore unsecured) protocol such as HTTTP or TFTP for communication, you must explicitly enable it and confirm the security warning that follows.

LANCOM Systems recommends that you refrain from using unencrypted communication protocols.
