As of LCOS 10.70 the DHCPv4 client supports the Client ID format in accordance with RFC 4361. As a result the DHCP client uses the parameter DUID (DHCP Unique Identifier Identifier) in DHCP requests. The DUID is composed of the IPv6 IAID (Identity Association Identifer) and the MAC address. If this parameter is not supported by the DHCP server or if the DHCP server is not configured properly, the DHCP Discover is discarded by the DHCP server and the requesting device cannot obtain an IP address.
