This document describes how to use the Setup Wizard in LANconfig to set up a basic configuration for a WLC cluster featuring configuration synchronization.
2000 each with an enabled LANCOM WLC High Availability Clustering XL option (item no. 61636).
Scenario:
A company manages their WLAN infrastructure with a LANCOM WLAN controller (e.g. WLC-4100).
The WLAN infrastructure and management via WLAN controller is already fully functional.
An additional WLAN controller(e.g. WLC-4025+) is to be used to establish a WLC cluster. In this way, configuration changes, features and enhancements made on one WLC are automatically transferred to the other WLC in the cluster, without having to make manual changes on each individual device.
Info
Common parameters in a WLC cluster (e.g. WLAN profiles, AP tables, or Public Spot settings) remain synchronized, individual parameters (such as the IP address of the WLC or the password of the main device) are not exchanged.
IMPORTANT:
Hinweis
If the master device has been used as a single device before setting up the WLC cluster, use the command show ca certin the command line interface to check whether the certificate uses the parameter"pathlen:1". If this parameter is like "pathlen:0"you have to create a new certificate on the master device first.

Procedure:
In this configuration example, device WLC_1is the WLAN controller, which is already fully functionalandmanaging the existing LANCOM access points.
The
device
device WLC_2is added to the local network by means of a basic configuration. A WLC cluster should now be configured using both devices.
Note:
Info
The correct time must be set on all of the involved devices (certificate checks).
1)
By
By clicking and keeping the left-hand mouse button pressed, pull the device with the lesser configuration and drop it onto the one which is already functionally configured.
In this example
we
we pull the device WLC_2 using drag-and-drop onto the device WLC_1.
