Description:
For LANCOM devices that are operated with LCOS LX (e.g. LANCOM LW-500, LANCOM LX-640x), configuration files can not saved as a script file (* .lcs) yet.
Since automatic backup as a script file is activated by default in LANconfig, errors occur when you save configuration changes.
Requirements:
- LANCOM device with LCOS LX as of version 4 (download latest version)
- LANtools as of version 10 (download latest version)
Procedure:
1. Device specific backup options:
1.1 In LANconfig, right-click on the LANCOM device operated with LCOS LX and select the Properties option.
1.2 Activate the Use device-specific backup settings option.
1.3 In the Backup options area, deactivate the option Save as configuration script.
1.4 Save the settings with OK.
2. Global backup options:
2.1 You can also make this setting in LANconfig globally for all managed devices.
Open the menu Extras → Options → Backup options.
With the global setting, you can reactivate the automatic backup as a script file for devices that are not operated with LCOS LX using the device-specific backup settings.
