Requirements:The following requirements must be met in order for you to operate the LANCOM Content Filter: - The firewall must be enabled and the content-filter profile must be selected with a corresponding firewall rule.
- The content-filter profile must specify a category profile and if desired a whitelist and/or blacklist for each part of the day. Acontent-filter profile can consist of several different entries to provide different levels of protection during different parts of the day. If a certain time span during the day does is not covered by an entry, then access to the Internet goes unchecked during this period.
Quick start:After the LANCOM Content Filter has been installed, the settings are ready to get you started quickly.
Activating the LANCOM Content Filter: The LANCOM Content Filter is activated with the following steps: 1) Ensure that the firewall is active: - LANconfig: Firewall/QoS → General
- WEBconfig: LCOS Menu Tree → Setup → IP-Router → Firewall
2) Activate the firewall rule for the LANCOM Content Filter: - LANconfig: Firewall/QoS → Rules
- WEBconfig: LCOS Menu Tree → Setup → IP-Router → Firewall → Rules
3) Activate the LANCOM Content Filter: - LANconfig: Content Filter → General
- WEBconfig: LCOS Menu Tree → Setup → UTM → Content-Filter → Operating
By default the LANCOM Content Filter is equipped with three category profiles. You can modify these category profiles to match your requirements under: - LANconfig: Content Filter → Profiles → Categories
- WEBconfig: LCOS Menu Tree → Setup → UTM → Content-Filter → Profiles → Profiles
The profile category 'DEFAULT' is assigned to the 'DEFAULT' content-filter profile and has the time frame "ALWAYS". If you want to make changes to the time frame, learn more under 'Time-frame settings for the LANCOM Content Filter'. |
