To set up a time server in the LANCOM, you first have to make some manual settings. Do this by starting the LANconfig configuration tool and going to Device -> Configure. From the drop-down menu select Date & time and the item Synchronization.
In this example, the time is to be regularly updated using
PTBTIME1.PTB.DE .
You then activate the time server in the Time server menu.
Time setting by Net Time (any MS Windows OS):
Net Time synchronizes the time between public NTPs and the local network.
For this purpose, you can search for local NTP servers:
Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 & Windows 8.x as NTP clients:
In MS Windows XP, the 'Date & time properties' provides a function for synchronizing the time with NTP servers. To query the NTP module in the router, simply enter the LAN IP of the router as the server.
