Description:
In some cases it can be necessary to change back to the old firmware after a firmware update (e.g. when a feature doesn't work as intended). During the upgrade process of a LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewall to a firmware version 10.5 and higher a recovery point is created automatically, so that a downgrade to the old version is possible.
This article describes the procedure for a firmware downgrade using a recovery point on a LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewall.
Recovery points are created only when updating to a major release firmware (e.g. from 10.4 to 10.5) but not within a release version (e.g. 10.5 Rel to 10.5 RU2).
Requirements:
- LANCOM R&S® Unified Firewall with LCOS FX as of version 10.5
- Web browser for configuring the Unified Firewall.
The following browsers are supported:- Google Chrome
- Chromium
- Mozilla Firefox
Procedure:
1) Open the configuration of the Unified Firewall in a web browser and the option System → Recovery Points on the upper right corner.
2) Click Recover for the desired Recovery Point to change to this firmware.
